Interrail and sustainable travel

Travelling by train is amazing! Not only do you see a lot more of your destination, while travelling in comfort, it's one of the most environmentally friendly ways of crossing borders (besides walking of course). We'll tell you all about sustainability, tips on travelling in a sustainable way and much more. Happy travelling!

What is sustainability?

Sustainability has many different meanings in different fields. One of the first definitions comes from a report by the World Commission on Environment and Development:

"Sustainability is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."

People, planet & profit

As time passes it's becoming more and more clear that we need to start changing quickly if we want to fight climate change and leave a liveable planet for the generations to come.
